Last week Google+ officially opened its doors to the public, allowing millions more the option of joining the site. That is not the only big news coming out of the company, as according to Ad Age, Google’s Christian Oestlien recently announced that Google+ has begun beta testing brand pages. General Motors and Ford will be the first companies to have sanctioned pages. Previously, the social network banned the practice and deleted any brand profiles as Google believed that it wasn’t ready for this type of page. The change in digital strategy may be to help entice more businesses and users to Google+, which has been struggling to maintain its community. (more…)
