MC Hammer hasn’t been a force to reckon with in the world of hip hop for nearly two decades, but the entrepreneur now claims to be creating a search engine that will outperform both Google and Bing. According to a CNN article, MC Hammer (whose real name is Stanley Burrell), announced the project last week at the Web 2.0 summit. The search engine, dubbed WireDoo, is currently accepting applications for beta participants.
During Hammer’s discussion of WireDoo, he mentioned that the service has been in development for over two years. Hammer’s new service has a digital strategy which he hopes will help his new venture compete. According to the former-rapper, “It’s about relationships beyond just the keywords.” Hammer also mentioned a “deep search” function which will bring related results to searchers.
It seems that those working in SEO services may soon have another engine to account for in their analysis. Do you thing that the market is ready for another competitor, or will Hammer’s venture fail in the cutthroat search realm? Share your thoughts in our comments section.
