Geekwire reports that Microsoft was flooded with complaints that it deleted the competitor’s web browser. This is a change for the company which previously placed strict regulations on such ads after it received large fines for promoting online gambling ads in 2007. Disconnect From Facebook ConnectFacebook’s tendrils are continuing to spread through the internet as the social media company starts to create the “Open Graph” that will allow for massive amounts of connectivity. More than one million websites are able to share information collected from users through Facebook Connect, a popular commenting and sharing plug-in. Not everyone is happy with this massive wave of data sharing and many users are concerned with privacy issues. Google’s digital strategy has seen it through major changes: from being a small start up to holding the largest market share of internet search. The company’s name has even become accepted as a verb by several dictionaries. Google+ Beta Tests Business Profiles, Issues AppearLast week Google+ officially opened its doors to the public, allowing millions more the option of joining the site. That is not the only big news coming out of the company, as according to Ad Age, Google’s Christian Oestlien recently announced that Google+ has begun beta testing brand pages. General Motors and Ford will be the first companies to have sanctioned pages. Previously, the social network banned the practice and deleted any brand profiles as Google believed that it wasn’t ready for this type of page. The change in digital strategy may be to help entice more businesses and users to Google+, which has been struggling to maintain its community. (more…)
