The Impending Demise Of Yahoo! Site ExplorerOn September 15th, Yahoo! Site Explorer will be shut off as part of the Yahoo! & Microsoft Search Alliance. The deal struck between the two companies mandates that all organic searches appearing on Yahoo! will now be powered by Microsoft’s Bing platform.

The search engine’s transition would have left two separate webmaster tools for one set of results. Yahoo! & Microsoft’s tandem system could have confused those providing SEO services, hence the companies’ decision to axe Site Explorer. YouTube Retires “Reinstate Account” Tool

According to a release from YouTube, the company will no longer allow users to request to reopen a closed account. The service will be retired on September 6th, 2011. Proper social media management has become even more crucial now as once an account is deleted it will become “permanently unavailable.” You read that right, after deletion of an account, not only are the videos deleted but the user name will become unusable as well.
